Pigmentation is our skin’s natural defence system from UVR and other forms of topical and internal inflammation. It’s a reactive response to damage being inflicted on the skin cells.
This damage then presents in the form of pigmentation – ie little brown spots, larger brown splotches or darkening of localised areas. These can be present on any part of the body – usually areas with the most amount of sun exposure.
A quick tip to avoid pigmentation you ask? ALWAYS wear SPF, rain, hail or shine. There are a range of different SPF strengths and consistencies that will be prescribed to suit you and your lifestyle!
